After a chimney fire, the owners of this 1,332 square foot vacation home needed a total renovation with upgrades to enhance their investment and bring it back to full functionality. After full gut demolition and structural repairs (including the first-floor system, exterior wall, demising wall and roof rafters) the framing was cleaned and encapsulated to treat for smoke and water damage. All plumbing lines and electrical wiring, including the service panel, were removed and replaced. While some items such as the kitchen cabinetry were able to be saved and reinstalled, each of the 2.5 bathrooms were rebuilt and updated with new cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, tile shower surround and accent walls. To create a new focal point in the living room, a stone fireplace with A/V connections above was created. The loft was partially enclosed, and a sliding barn door system was added to create additional privacy and still allow natural light from the new skylight. The existing exposed beam supporting the loft was refinished to tie into the new wood stair rails and other wood accents. New lighting throughout gave the home some additional luxurious touches that will ensure this vacation home is loved for many years to come.
