Wanting to enlarge their already majestic, full-scribe log cabin, these owners chose a 2-story addition with a finished walk-up attic totaling 2,676 finished square feet. To complement the existing structure without distracting from its inherent beauty, the owners chose for the exterior of the addition, a stained knotty pine, lapped siding and vertical board and batten for a gable accent. Forrest green windows with a prairie-style grid pattern were also chosen to coordinate with the existing. The addition is connected to the existing structure by a floating bridge with large glass windows. You enter from the existing home into a gigantic, eat-in kitchen designed for large family gatherings. On the other side of the stairway is an even bigger Living Room with a beamed ceiling and wood-burning fireplace perfect for entertaining guests on a chili evening. Just outside of the living space is a screened-in, covered deck with a hot tub. From the deck steps you have easy access to the sprawling, wooded property. On the second floor there are located additional rooms for entertaining along with two full bathrooms featuring tiled showers and oil-rubbed bronze accents. The entire addition is trimmed in extra wide knotty pine, stained a golden oak to match the existing log cabin interior.
